HISTORY OF THE TOWN!

Where it all began...

We secured the North East Regional League title with our first attempt during the 2013/14 season, an unbeaten record of 17 wins and 1 draw saw the club promoted to the North East Regional Premier League scoring 65 and conceding 21. Sonni Sweeney managed to score 35 goals in all competitions with now club legend Claire Needham scooping player of the year!

The next chapter...

Our second season saw us competing in The North East Regional Premier League, just one division below  'The FA Women's Premier League' Now known as The FA Women's National League.

A season of success, as we managed to secure a runners up spot in the league and win our first cup competition lifting the North East Regional Cup, a semi final win away at League Champions Hull City, thanks to a last minute Claire Needham free-kick sent us through to the final

where we came up against Blyth Town, again a last minute goal from Rachael White was enough to see us over the line and complete a memorable season.

A big step up...

Our first season in the FA Women's Premier League proved to be a tricky step up, we eventually managed to claim a respectable 6th place finish after a difficult start. The 2016/17 season was all about our cup runs, we managed to reach our first ever West Riding County Cup Final losing out 3-0 against Bradford City. The FA Cup saw us reach the 3rd Round and in front of a crowd of 411, we hosted Tier 2 side Everton.

County Success...

The 2018/19 season saw us lift our first ever West Riding County Cup, a 3-2 win over holders and higher league opposition Guiseley Vixens. Kayleigh Bamforth became our first centurian reaching 100 games, she was followed by Emma Dobson and then Annabelle Cass. We secured a consecutive runners up place in the league finishing behind Burnley.

Moving on up...

2015/16 brought even more success, after finishing as runners up the previous season, we managed to secure the league title and once again, did it unbeaten. A record of 18 wins and 4 draws was enough to give us a 7 point advantage over Barnsley and secure promotion to the FA Women's Premier League. An impressive 49 goals from a front line of Jodie Redgrave and Rachael White was the spearhead but the team only conceded an incredible 9 goals all campaign!

Finding our feet...

The following season we continued to make history, finishing as runners up behind our old foes Hull City by just 4 points. We managed to go one better in the FA Cup, reaching the 4th round, beating Derby County along the way to this time face the 5th best side in the country, Sunderland! We reached the Quarter Final of the League Cup, losing out to the all conquering Blackburn Rovers in the last minute.
